Senior Katie Linsey and sophomore Brad Guthrie practice the “Telephone Hour” act on Wednesday Nov. 6, in preparation for the first show on Sunday Nov. 10.

The fall musical “Bye Bye Birdie”  premiered Sunday, Nov. 10 and will run through Saturday, Nov. 16.

The 102-member cast has been preparing since early September. Since the show has been double-casted, many students have roles in both casts. Director Jon Copeland said the reasoning behind the double-casting was simple.

“We had a lot of people with a lot of depth,” Copeland said. “We had a lot of different kids that were prepared. We wanted to give them all roles.”

In order to fully prepare for the upcoming show, rehearsals have become longer. Click here for a photo gallery from dress rehearsals.

Junior Tessa Wahlmeier, who plays the “Third Voice” role and is a member of the ensemble in both casts, said the longer rehearsals are necessary.

“We’re not prepared yet [for the show],” Wahlmeier said. “But we’re getting there.”

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased directly from Copeland. During the week of the show, any remaining tickets will be sold in the cafeteria at lunch. Sunday’s 4 p.m. matinee and Saturday’s evening performance are sold out. Remaining shows will be at 7 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Tickets are $3 for students and $6 to all other patrons.
