Facebook releases list of 40 most shared articles for 2011

Earlier this afternoon, Facebook released a list of the 40 most shared news articles in 2011. This list is expected to be updated again at the end of the year, but the current list reflects much of the nation’s interests and is expected to help marketers target exactly what their audience wants to read about. The list was posted on the Facebook+Journalists page on Facebook.

The top five most shared articles were “Satellite Photos of Japan, Before and After the Quake and Tsunami” (New York Times), “What teachers really want to tell parents” (CNN), “No, your zodiac sign hasn’t changed” (CNN) “Parents, don’t dress your girls like tramps” (CNN) and “Father Daughter Dance Medley (video)” (Yahoo).

The entire list can be found either here or on the Facebook+Journalist page here.
