If you would like to order a class Homecoming t-shirt, see StuCo sponsor Erica Crist in room GL-102 for an order form. T-shirts are $8 and order forms and payment are due today.

Principal Tobie Waldeck will be having class meetings next week during seminar. Juniors: today, Seniors: Monday, Sept. 30.

Social studies teacher Dustin Stinnett’s Silver Two Pre-AP World History students need to stop by his room during seminar or after school today to pick up guided reading questions.

Picture retakes have now been rescheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 8 a.m.

There will be no Quiz Bowl practice after school today due to parent teacher conferences.

Eudora Ed-Tech students are expected to attend classes tomorrow and Friday of this week. Ed-Tech buses will run at the same departure and return times. There will be no Ed-Tech classes at Eudora on Monday, Sept. 30. Students will be expected to report on time to their second block classes at 9:20 a.m.

Outside guest passes are available in the office for Homecoming. Forms must be turned in by Wednesday, Oct. 2.

Join the Mill Valley High School Homecoming Parade on Wednesday, Oct. 2. If you would like to decorate and ride on a class float, see Crist in room GL-102 as soon as possible.

All Homecoming parade participants must turn in a signed waiver by today. Pick up a waiver from your seminar teacher, the office, room GL-102, or the StuCo website.

The JAG yearbook will be sponsoring a photo booth before school each morning during Homecoming week. Stop by and get your photo taken with your friends in your best spirit wear. Your photos will appear on MVNews each day after school and could be selected to be in the JAG yearbook. Student Council will award those with the best spirit wear each day with free tickets to Homecoming, but you must have your photo taken at the photo booth to be eligible.

Freshmen seminars: Complete your seminar challenge #1 by Monday, Sept. 30. The seminar with the most signatures will win a doughnut party. Talk to your freshmen mentors or school improvement specialist Leah Vomhof if you have questions.

Freshmen mentors: We will have our September freshmen mentor meeting during seminar on Monday, Sept. 30 in room A-117. Please bring completed seminar challenge #1 sheets with you.

Voyager students: pullouts for the week of Monday, Sept. 30 through Friday, Oct. 4 are Tuesday, Oct. 1 during Silver One, Wednesday, Oct. 2 during Blue One and Blue Three, and Thursday, Oct. 3 during Silver Two. Stop by the Voyager Room for more information and a “sneak peek” at coming attractions.

Banned Book Week and an upcoming four day weekend make for a perfect opportunity to do some reading these next few days. Celebrate your right to read by checking out a book from the library before leaving school today.

Next Monday night is the Christian College Fair hosted by Maranatha Academy on their North campus. The event will be from 6-8 p.m. Interested students can go to myblueprintstory.com for complete information on this fair and to register for their barcode.

Friday is the registration deadline for the Saturday, Oct. 26 ACT exam which will be given at Mill Valley. Students may register online for this exam at actstudent.org/start.

MVHS will host a two evening ACT test prep class on Wednesday, Oct. 17 and Wednesday, Oct. 24 from 6:30-9 p.m. for a cost of $60. Students may sign up and pay for the test prep class in the Counseling Office.

MVHS is offering a PSAT test prep class on the two Wednesday evenings prior to the actual exam for a cost of $50, since there is a major scholarship component for juniors in this National Merit exam. Sign up and payment for this test prep class can be done in the Counseling Office.
