Cross country wins meet at Shawnee Mission Park

The cross country season is off to a promising start with both the girls and boys teams taking first place at the meet on Thursday, Aug. 30.

Individually, freshman Ellie Wilson placed first and senior Chris Gillespie placed fifth.

Assistant coach Allison Stoppel expressed her excitement for the upcoming season.

“We’ve got a lot of great incoming freshmen, especially on the girls’ side,” Stoppel said. “There are three or four freshman girls running varsity this year. On the boys’ side, we returned almost the entire varsity…It’s gonna be a great season.”
