Art show showcases students’ hidden talents

Art show showcases students hidden talents

The annual art show opened to the public Thursday, April 26, hosted by Country Club Bank. More than 30 students’ artwork will be displayed for a week in the bank’s lobby.

Senior vice president of Country Club Bank Charley Vogt sees the art show as a unique opportunity for students to show off their skills.

“Some of the most unlikely people show off their art here and we are just so impressed,” Vogt said. “It’s like a hidden talent for some kids.”

The art department, in collaboration with Country Club bank, has been putting on the art show since 2002. In the span of 10 years, the show has included everything from Adirondack chairs for purchase to sculptures to paintings. The bank has also participated in the past in the annual Chili Bowl Sale.

Vogt praised the teachers of the art department for the work they had done throughout the week in preparation of the art show.

“They are tireless people. They’ve come over here every day to set up the displays, which is no easy task,” Vogt said. “They’ve been great to work with.”

The art will remain on display for the week.
