On Friday, Oct. 7, the Jaguars fell to the Bishop Miege Stags at Miege. This was their sixth game of the season, making their record 3-3.

During first quarter, the Stags scored three quick touchdowns on their first 3 possessions to go up 21-0.

After an interception by junior quarterback Brody Flaming, the Stags scored again to increase their lead to 28-0 late in the first quarter.

The Stags scored another touchdown and completed a successful two point conversion to go up 36-0 early in the second quarter.

Sophomore wide receiver Logan Talley struck back with a touchdown to cut into the Stags lead. The Jags trailed 36-7 midway through the second quarter.

Talley thinks that at that point in the game, the offense needed a spark.

“[The touchdown] was just a spot it the game where we needed to keep going,” Talley said. “It didn’t do much to prove, but we just had to keep going.”

The Stags scored two more touchdown before the half. At the half the Stags lead 50-7.

Bishop Miege scored twice midway through the third quarter to bring the score to 64-7.

After a fumble by Miege, sophomore running back Cameron Young fought back and scored a touchdown to cut the deficit to 64-14.

Talley took a few positives from the fight the team showed.

“The second half we definitely showed what kind of team we are, and how we can come back,” Talley said.

Young scored again late in the fourth quarter to 65-21. This was the final score.

Defensive coordinator Drew Hudgins says the team isn’t taking any time off.

“[Preparation] starts … right now. [We’ve got to do what] we always do watch film and try to get better,” Hudgins said.
