Thespian Troupe initiation

The Thespian Troupe had its new member initiation on Wednesday, Oct. 10. New member recruits were required to walk around with a sign that said, “Ask me to sing,” and were required to sing to any student, staff or administrator who requested they sing. The Thespian Troupe welcomed 17 new members and welcomed back eight returning members. Thespian Troupe sponsor Jon Copeland said the initiation process went well.

“The process went very good,” Copeland said. “Our eight returning members took over and created the whole initiation process. They made it really fun.”

According to sophomore new recruit Jesse Laning, the initiation process was not too bad.

“I sang 40-50 times,” Laning said. “I didn’t think it was too bad since I really didn’t care. [If I was bad] The people asking me to sing were the ones that were suffering from my voice while I sang,”

Initiation process ended with an afterschool pizza party, welcoming new and old members.

“[it] was a pretty good way to end the long day of singing,” Laning said.
