“Before every track meet, I make sure to talk to friends and listen to music on the bus so I get in the zone,” Mills said. “And additionally, because it’s gotten so hot out, I make sure that I drink water all day long and I try my best to hang out in the shade before my events so I’m not in the sun too much.”

Senior Aiden Lehr is proud of his team as well as his accomplishments from this season.

“I’ve only broken my personal records a couple of times this season, but I’m proud of myself, and I’ve been feeling really good during these last few meets, so practices have been really fun,” Lehr said. “As a team, we’ve been doing good, our girls team is probably one of the best in the state, and our guys team has also been performing well, so I feel like we have a good chance to win regionals and I’m proud of everyone.”

Sophomore Addi Price explains what made this track season so fun for her.

“This season was fun for me because I love making new friends, I got close to all of the new freshmen, and I got closer to all of the seniors,” Price said. “I also got a chance to work on other events, so I did more javelin this season, and it was great to be able to work on my technique.”

As the season comes to a close, Lehr reflects on his final moments.

“It’s my last season, so I’ve just been trying to enjoy it as much as possible,” Lehr said. “It’s tough when I don’t throw well, but there have been a lot of ups and downs. Winning the meet in the second week was a highlight; that was my first-ever track medal, and it meant a lot to me. I’m just trying to make the most of every moment before it’s over.”
