Sophomore tennis player has high expectations for season

With the tennis season starting up, sophomore varsity tennis player Paul Dresvyannikov is prepared.

“I have been practicing constantly,” Dresvyannikov said. “I have done everything from working on basic fundamentals to conditioning and staying in shape.”

Dresvyannikov began playing tennis last April when a friend challenged him to a tennis match. After learning the basic fundamentals, Dresvyannikov found a love for the game and began playing on a daily basis.

“Once I was introduced to the sport, it was hard to stop playing,” Dresvyannikov said.

The first match of the season is on Wednesday, Mar. 21. Throughout the season, Dresvyannikov expects the team to have much improvement and hopefully send at least 2 players to state.

“This year I’m just looking to gain match experience,” Dresvyannikov said. “If the year goes well, the top five guys should do great and I hopefully I’ll make it to state.”
