Sophomore soccer player enters twelfth year of soccer

After starting freshman year as a varsity left defensive soccer player, sophomore Cody Knight knew the work it would take to maintain his position.

“I run everyday I don’t have practice, I work out a lot, and I eat a lot of meat,” Knight said.

After starting in a recreational league at the age of 4, Knight continued to climb the competitive ladder with age. As leagues progressively became more difficult, Knight became prepared for the high school varsity level.

“It takes hard work and lots of practice to compete at a high level,” Knight said.

Knight looks forward to leading his team when he becomes an upperclassman, as well as scoring his first goal for the Jaguars.

“I have yet to score a single goal. Maybe someday. If I did, I bet my team would like me that much more,” Knight said.
