The Quiz Bowl team hosted its first meet this season on Thursday, Dec. 1. Since, they hosted the meet they could not compete in it.

Quiz Bowl sponsor Mary Beth Mattingly thought that they did fine for hosting their first meet.

“Despite a lot of unexpected mishaps, I think everything went well,” Mattingly said. “The teams enjoyed themselves and everyone said it was good. Most people were happy.”

Sophomore Quiz Bowl member Joe Gunter thought it was a rocky start at first but, then it worked well.

“It went well at first, then we had a couple of pitches, like schools leaving in the middle of the tournament, but once we got started we got a hang of it,” Gunter said.

The teams who did compete were De Soto High School which got first place, Blue Valley High School which got second, Olathe South High School which got third and Leavenworth High School which got fourth.

Quiz Bowl’s next meet is on Thursday, Dec.8 at Turner.
