Jaguars beat Bishop Ward High School 53-7 for a fourth straight win

Coming out on top of the Bishop Ward High School Cyclones 53-7, the Jaguars clinched their fourth win of the season.

After the Jaguars won the toss and deferred to Bishop Ward, a few changes of possession occurred and the Cyclones scored their first and only touchdown of the night with 5:21 remaining in the first quarter. The extra point was good, and the score was 0-7.

Then, after runs by junior running back Staton Rebeck and senior safety Justice Oehlert, the Jaguars found themselves on their 45-yard line.

A touchdown by junior quarterback Skyler Windmiller brought the Jags to 6-7 after a failed extra point with 2:59 left in the first quarter.

Less than a minute later, Rebeck scored the second touchdown for the Jaguars to make the score 12-7, ending the first quarter.

Rebeck’s second touchdown of the night, and the third of the game, came with 11:52 remaining in the first half. His touchdown brought the score to 18-7.

With 7:05 to go in the second quarter, senior wide receiver Ethan Rice scored and the two-point conversion by Windmiller put the Jags ahead 26-7.

Aftera few changes of possession, a 40-yard run by Rebeck put the ball on the Cyclone’s 27-yard line after a 10-yard penalty.

Rebeck scored his third touchdown of the game, making the score 33-7 with 3:36 left in the second quarter.

Senior wide receiver Wade Hanna then brought the score to 40-7 with 0:52 left in the half. The touchdown was set up by junior wide receiver L.J. Hatch’s 70-yard reception from Windmiller.

Only 13 seconds into the third quarter, Oehlert ran into the end zone for a touchdown to put the Jaguars up 47-7.

Adding to the score, Hanna scored a touchdown with four minutes left in the game. The final score was 53-7, Jaguars.

The next game will be played at Piper High School on Friday, Sept. 30 at 7 p.m.
