The lady basketball team tips off the basketball season this Thursday. Dec. 1 when they travel to Blue Valley Northwest to take on a tough Huskie squad. Junior Varsity and Freshman games start at 5:30p.m. followed by the Varsity action at 7:00p.m. Your support is appreciated.

Attention to any girl interested in trying out for soccer this spring: please remember that your two mile times and juggling numbers need to be emailed to coach Arlan Vomhof by this Thursday, Dec. 1, if you plan on trying out this spring, as this is a requirement for tryouts.

All boys who plan on playing tennis this spring must attend a mandatory meeting Monday, Dec. 5 during seminar in the senior café.

Applications for the media production classes are due to braodcast journalism teacher Cindy Swartz by Thursday, December 1.

There will be a required meeting for all students who plan on trying out for the bowling team today immediately following school in the senior café. If you are planning on trying out, your attendance is mandatory. If you cannot attend, you must speak to english teacher Adam Wessel or coach Rick Pollard prior to the meeting.

College bound seniors and their parents are encouraged to attend the district financial aid night event at De Soto High School on Wednesday, Nov. 30 evening at 6:30 p.m. in their little theater. Financial aid representatives from Kansas State University and Kansas University will be presenting information on federal grants, loans, and work study programs.

Students, please vote for Mize Elementary at the beginning of Seminar for the next two days.

American Legion Boys State Leadership Academy applications are now available in the counseling office for junior men who rank in the top half of their class and are involved in extra-curricular activities. The week long event will be held Sunday, June 3 to Saturday, June 9 on the Kansas State University campus and more details can be found at www.kansasboystate.org .

Schedule changes for second semester will occur Tuesday, Dec. 6 to Friday, Dec. 9. As per the student handbook, requests can be made for one of the following reasons:
1. The student is not enrolled in a required class.
2. The student is enrolled in a class for which he/she has already received credit.
3. The student has not met the prerequisites for the class.
4. The student has an incomplete schedule.
5. A teacher recommends the student advance to a higher level course or that the student moves out of the course due
to the failure of 1st semester (pending approval from the principal).
If your requests meets one of these criteria, you may submit a schedule change request form and turn it in to the counseling office for review before 7:50 a.m. each day. Each request is considered for approval on an individual basis.
Forms and a list of open classes will be available in the counseling office beginning Friday, Dec. 2. Second semester schedules are available for viewing in Skyward by accessing “Schedules” and scrolling down to quarter three/four.
