The wrestling team traveled to the Newton Tournament of Champions this past weekend. As always this is one of the toughest tournaments in the state. It featured the best teams in Kansas from all classifications and Tulsa Union who is ranked 25th nationally. Our wrestlers showed that they could compete at this level of wrestling for the two tough days of wrestling. Senior Zach Callahan made it to the Newton Finals and finished second to the number one ranked wrestler in 4A falling 3-1 in overtime. Sophomore Tyler Dickman finished sixth place at 126 pounds which may have been the toughest weight of the tournament. We had several other guys that competed hard and came up one match short of making the medal stand. This Wednesday, Jan. 18 we will host Shawnee Heights at 5:30 p.m. in the small gym. We will have junior varsity matches first and the varsity dual will follow. The junior varsity will travel to Kansas City Piper this weekend to compete in the Piper varsity Tournament. Start time for the tournament is 8:30 a.m.

Detentions are in room A101.
