All vehicles need to be registered by Friday, Sept. 9. After that tickets will be issued to those not displaying the car tag and to those who are illegally parked.

The first NHS meeting of the year will be tomorrow at 7:10 a.m. If you are in NHS then you need to be at this meeting. Please be on time.

Blue Crew will be having a “Tutu and Poster Making Party” this Friday during seminar. All students are invited, all you need to bring is yourself and your jaguar spirit.

JAGS is back! Anyone interested in being part of this community service group please come to a meeting on Friday in GL101 during seminar.

Voyagers students: don’t miss the exciting “Fast Food Style Decision Making” on Thursday, Sept. 1 during Silver four block. This is a free pass – no packet to read or sign up sheet.

Seniors. Stop by the counseling office to sign up for your senior interview. Counselors will meet with each senior individually to discuss post-high school plans, scholarship tips, and more! Meetings will take place during seminar. If you need to schedule an alternate time, please see your counselor to set an appointment.

It’s not often you get the chance to see a published author in person, let alone one whose books you’ve enjoyed reading. The author of Glass, Crank, and Identical is coming to the Johnson County Library in September. Check out the posters in the media center to find out about this upcoming event.

Sept. 2 is the JCCC College NOW deadline for first time students participating in the dual credit program to complete and return the high school authorization form and complete the application for admission. It is also the deadline for all College NOW students to submit qualifying ACT scores for AP Language & Comp, AP Lit & Comp, AP Chemistry, AP Statistics, and Calculus. Students that haven’t taken the ACT test yet or that haven’t attained the qualifying ACT score will need to take the COMPASS test at JCCC to
qualify for enrollment before the Sept. 16 COMPASS testing and enrollment deadline.

College bound sophomores and juniors may sign up and pay their $14 fee for the PSAT/National Merit exam in the counseling office. Checks for the test fee should be made out to MVHS. Sept. 9 is the test sign up and fee payment deadline.

A special PSAT test taking strategies class will be offered on Sept. 28, Oct. 5, and Oct. 12 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at MVHS for a fee of $80. Registrations forms can be downloaded from the MVHS counselor website or picked up in the counseling office.
