Daily announcements for Thursday, May 3

The audition song for next year’s choirs will be rehearsed in the Choir Room during seminar today and tomorrow. See chior director Sheree Stoppel for details.

The Spring National Honors Society Induction Ceremony has been changed to 7 p.m. Please see math teacher Sarah Sides with any questions.

There will be a brief art club meeting today after school in C118. We will be looking at T-shirt ideas, so be sure you are there on time. Also, we will meet again next Thursday, May 10 for our final meeting of the school year.

Anyone interested in cross country next year that didn’t come to the meeting on Monday, April 30, should see coach Mark Chipman this week.

A boys basketball meeting will be held on Monday, May 7 during Seminar to discuss summer basketball camps and tournaments. All boys interested in playing basketball next year should attend.

All students that were accepted into the Sociology of Community Service class for next school year need to attend an informational meeting on Monday, May 7 during seminar in the senior café.

There will be meeting next Monday, May 7 during seminar in for anyone interested in being a football manager next fall. The meeting will take place in the weight room.

Any student who would like to run for a StuCo class position needs to see art teacher Erica Crist in GL102 as soon as possible. Petitions and speeches are due on Thursday, May 10.

Voyager students: if you like mind stretching, hands on activities, join us for “Found Poetry” on Tuesday, May 8 during blue three. No packet required.

Mayhem mud volleyball and dodge ball sign ups are during lunch this entire week. Seniors may sign up during lunch to play in the faculty verses student basketball game.

A “Midsummer Night’s Dream” will be performed tomorrow and Saturday, May 5 at 7 p.m. each night. Mark your calendars to see this awesome production. Tickets are $3 for students with student I.D. They may be purchased from Copeland today.

Driver’s education forms for the summer session are now available in the office and online. Class will begin Monday, June 4. Classes meet from 10-11:30 a.m. on Monday through Thursday each week for three weeks. Cost is $200.

All books and materials checked out today and for the remainder of the school year will be due back in the media center by Friday, May 11. Please be certain all checked out materials are back by that time.

Seniors: a new list is posted on the media center windows with those names of seniors needing to return books and/or pay fines in the media center. Please take care of these responsibilities. Your checkout form will not be signed by the media center unless these items are completed.

Attention Seniors: please do not forget that tomorrow is the deadline to turn in your scholarship form to the counseling office. This scholarship information will be included in the awards assembly and on the graduation program, so it’s important that we receive your information. Extra copies of the form are available in the counseling office.

Attention current freshmen, sophomores and juniors. The University of Kansas will once again host the Rotary Youth Leadership Academy from Sunday, June 3 to Thursday, June 7. This program is designed to help you develop leadership skills and abilities, promote ethical behavior, and facilitate personal growth and self-awareness. Program cost is $300 and deadline to apply is tomorrow. Stop by the counseling office for more information.

The AP Chemistry exam will be given at 7:50 a.m. on Monday, May 7, in room B-223. Students testing will need to bring
a supply of number two pencils, black or blue ink pens, and an approved calculator. No cell phones are allowed in the AP testing room.
