Daily announcements for Monday, Feb. 6

Did you watch the Super Bowl? If so, what was your favorite commercial? MVHS is participating in a National Campaign
which looks at media influence on teens. The results will be submitted by 12 p.m. tomorrow and a nation-wide press
release issued on Wednesday, Feb. 8. Make your vote count by completing the short survey. Don’t ask your friends – they want to know which commercial and which products you remember.

The first day of track practice is quickly approaching. All students interested in participating in track need to turn
paperwork into track and field coach Chris Dunback as soon as possible. If you need a copy of the paperwork packet, he has extras. The first day of practice is on Monday, Feb. 27.

Attention students planning on going on the Madrid and Paris trip: There will be a mandatory meeting for
parents and students this Thursday, Feb. 9 at 5:30 p.m. in the media center. If you have any questions or think you
will not be able to attend, you MUST contact foreign language teachers Kim Service or Edith Paredes before then.

Student Leadership Team will meet this Wednesday, Feb. 8 in the band room. Please report directly to the band room at 2:15 p.m. Attendance will be taken at the meeting. If you cannot attend, stop by the counseling office and let counselor Erin Hayes know.

National Honor Society will host the “Know Ya Boo” dating game show on Monday, Feb. 13 during seminar. Each grade, including the staff, will be represented by 1 couple in the competition. Come support the couple from your grade and enjoy the entertainment with hosts seniors Devin Rudicel and Robbie Weber. Purchase tickets for $1 this week before school or for $2 at the door.

All Jag and art club members interested in helping with the chili bowl sale, please come sign up in art teachers Jodie Ellis’ room, Erica Crist’s room or Jerry Howard’s room.

Anyone interested in helping with Heart to Heart at the warehouse on Saturday, Feb. 18 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. packing supplies please sign up on Ellis’ door. More information will be provided on the sign up sheet or see junior CJ Hopkins.

Anyone interested in attending Harvesters on Wednesday, Feb. 8 from 3- 6:30 p.m. please sign up on Ellis’ door.

Attention jagPRIDE members: Please stop by social worker Debbie Gudenkauf’s office immediately after school today.

This Friday is the JCCC Spring enrollment deadline for students wanting the additional 5 hours of foreign language credit
in French IV and Spanish IV classes.

Next Monday, Feb. 13 is the deadline for seniors to RSVP online at www.jccc.edu/campus-visit for the Monday, Feb. 20 Senior Day at Johnson County Community College.

Ed-tech students are to attend Eudora classes next Thursday, Feb. 16. Bus service will be provided at the usual departure and return times.

The JV wrestling team traveled to Blue Valley this past weekend and competed in a tournament. CJ Beran placed first.

The girls basketball team won their 11th straight game last Friday, Feb. 3, defeating the Lansing Lions by a score of 37-26. They will take their 11-3 record on the road Tuesday night when they travel to Tonganoxie to take on the Lady Chieftains.
