Daily announcements for Friday, Jan. 20

Sculpture and Art Foundations first semester students: please pick up your artwork from art teacher Erica Crist today.

Any AP 11 Composition and Language students who need a copy of the “Bedford Reader” for homework can come by english teacher Kristen Crosbie’s room after school today and pick one up.

AP Chemistry students: we will go over how to do the calculations for the kinetics lab in class on the morning of Monday, Jan. 23. Also still be prepared to start the equilibrium lab number 13.

Student Council Open Microphone Night is Wednesday, Jan. 25 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the commons. All students are welcome to attend. If you would like to perform, please see Crist, math teacher Jessica DeWild, or a student council member to sign up. A sign up sheet is also on the StuCo bulletin board in the foyer.

Voyager students: don’t miss the fun. Pick up your packet for the seminar “Creativity– The Importance of Play” on Thursday, Jan 26, Blue three.

The counseling office has just received information about a Commerce Bank part-time teller position. Please stop by for more information.

Students interested in learning more about travelling to Madrid, Spain and Paris, France with foreign language teachers Edith Paredes and Kim Service in June of 2013 should attend to an informational meeting after school on Thursday, Jan. 26 at 3 p.m. The meeting will take place in room C212. You need to be either enrolled in either language or to have taken
it for two years to be able to be part of the group. Traveling gives you a wonderful opportunity to fully experience the language you have been learning in class.

The boys basketball team won its opening round game in the Coffeyville tournament, beating Springfield Parkview 60-56. Junior Nathan Stacy scored 31 points in the victory. Sophomore Nick Friesner added 11 points.

The Lady Jags will be hosting the Turner Golden Bears tonight in three games. Freshman start at 4:30 p.m., followed by the junior varsity at 6 p.m. and varsity action is slated to begin at 7:30 p.m. Come out and cheer on the team as they
attempt to stretch their winning streak to six games.
