Any student with Photoshop skills that would like to earn community service hours by doing a flyer for Mrs. Powers at Riverview should see business teacher Mark Chipman during seminar today or tomorrow.

A reminder to all senior cross country runners:  Please meet today by the Jaguar between 4:30 p.m. and 4:45 p.m. in uniform to take your senior group pictures. See science teacher Betsy Meeks with questions.

Please do not forget.  It is mandatory for all NHS students to register with NHS sponsor Kristen Chavez today.

All boys who intend to try out for the boys basketball: there is a meeting on Monday, Nov. 4 during seminar. Location to be announced.

There will be a second boys’ swim meeting on Friday, Nov. 8 at 2:30 p.m. in the Senior Café.

Voyager students: Pullouts for the week of Tuesday, Oct. 29 are: Friday, Nov. 1 during Silver One.

The 2013 Teen Top Ten Books have been announced. Stop by the display just inside the media center doors to see which books made the cut. See which ones you’ve read and check out any that are on display.

The November Read & Review meeting will be next Thursday, Nov. 7 during seminar. If you haven’t reviewed your book from last month make sure you have it reviewed by the end of the weekend. The sign-up sheet for attending will be in the media center before first block on Monday. If you haven’t attended a meeting yet and would like to do so, stop by to sign up next week.

Seniors interested in a shortened day for 2nd semester need to see their counselors as soon as possible. Current part-time seniors, who will be participating in spring KSHSAA events, will need to complete the shortened day application. The deadline to submit the application is Friday, Nov. 15 at 3:00 pm.  No late applications will be accepted.

Friday, Nov. 8 is the registration deadline for the Saturday, Dec. 14 ACT exam. Students can register on line at www.actstudent.org/start.

MVHS will offer a two evening December ACT Test Prep class on Thursday, Dec. 5 and Thursday, Dec. 12 from 6:30-9:00 p.m., for a cost of $60. Payments and registration for the Test Prep Class can be made in the Counseling Office.

This week’s Activity of the Week will be the home soccer game this Friday night against Blue Valley Southwest. Come support the team as they work toward a trip to State. Game time is 6:00 p.m.

Mill Valley News is having a contest for the best tweets and photos from the state volleyball tournament. Winners will receive a gift card and could appear in the next issue of the JagWire or in the JAG yearbook. Follow @millvalleynews on twitter and send us your photos and tweets during the state matches using the hashtag #mvstatebound. If you’re not going to state volleyball, follow @millvalleynews for updates and photos from the state games during the day. Your photos and tweets from school are also eligible for the contest as well.
