Class to play music at lunch

As another incentive to students, band teacher Debra Steiner’s Multimedia Music classes will soon play music during lunch.

“It’s actually a project we do in my Multimedia class. The purpose is to learn how to work the [Adobe] Soundbooth,” Steiner said.

The project does not just serve as entertainment during lunch for all the students, but also it provides a purpose for the students executing it.

“I thought it would be just kind of nice for you guys to have [music during lunch],” Steiner said. “We used to have a juke box in my junior high.”

The project was first thought up when iPods were allowed to be listened to during lunch, and students from last semester also got to make their own playlist for lunch, including junior Rachael Blair.

“Playing music during lunch would make music available to everyone even if they don’t have iPods.” Blair said. “Also, it could just be the fact that it’s a creative way to introduce different varieties of music to people, and it’s just fun.”

Vice principal Jennifer Smith will meet with the Student Leadership Team next week to discuss the timeline of the events that will put the plan into action.
