Boys basketball team wins road league game

The boys basketball team traveled to Tonganoxie High School to take on the Tonganoxie Chieftains Tuesday, February 7. The Jaguars won the game, 71-51 with junior Nathan Stacy leading the team with 22 points.

Head coach Justin Bogart played basketball as a student at Tonganoxie. He is proud of his team with the win against his alma mater.

“I’ll always love Tonganoxie, but I’ll always love beating them if I’m coaching against them,” Bogart said.

This victory puts the Jaguars at an overall record of 9-6 and a league record of 6-3.

Sophomore Drew Boatwright came off the bench and contributed 16 points to Tuesday night’s victory. Boatwright felt that the team was completely in sync.

“It was fun to be able to execute our offense perfectly,” Boatwright said.

The team travels to league rival Bonner Springs High School to play their next game Friday, February 10.
