Band performs spring concert

The silver and Blue bands performed on Monday, March 4 at 7 p.m. in the main gymnasium. The Silver band performed first, beginning with “Fortius.”

Freshman Brian Fitzsimmons feels that the performance was a success.

“I think it went great,” Fitzsimmons said. “We sounded really balanced.”

Fitzsimmons’ favorite song they played was “Sparks.”

“[I liked ‘Sparks’] because I had a solo in the song,” Fitzsimmons said. “It went really well.”

The Blue band took the floor second. They opened their portion of the concert with “Fanfare for the Common Man.”

Junior James Dandridge thought that, for the most part, “Fanfare for the Common Man” was successful.

“’Fanfare for the Common Man’ was played excellently,” Dandridge said. “But the trumpets could have used a little more time to perfect their parts.”

Band director Debra Steiner has noticed improvement within the bands throughout the year.

“Individual concentration has really improved this year,” Steiner said. “Overall, I was proud of their performance.”
