Art department hosts chili bowl sale

Art students will be selling homemade ceramic chili bowls on Friday, Feb. 24 from 5-8 p.m. Bowls are $12 and include two bowls of chili, crackers, dessert and a drink. For every $12 bowl purchased, four additional chili dinners can be purchased at $5 each, which don’t include a homemade bowl.

Proceeds go to the art department to purchase new equipment.

“We have purchased in the past a matt cutter, helped purchase a pug mill for clay, helped purchase a glass fusing kiln and I believe we would like to purchase cameras for the art department to take pictures of art work and help with portfolio development this year,” art teacher Jodi Ellis said.

Ellis is hoping for a good turnout.

“This is the seventh year we’ve been doing it,” Ellis said. “We would like to make $500 from the fundraiser.”
