Wrestling success at Derby

Traveling over three hours to the Derby Wrestling Tournament on Friday, Jan. 6 and Saturday, Jan 7, the varsity wrestling team finished in seventh place out of 16 teams.

Five wrestlers placed in the tournament. Senior Zach Callahan and sophomore Tyler Dickman earned second place in their divisions, senior Christian Service placed third, and sophomores Daniel Gray and Jake Ellis both earned fifth place medals.

Head coach Travis Keal was pleased with the team’s improvement and individual effort.

“The team competed extremely well,” Keal said. “[We] showed steady improvement.”
