Varsity boys soccer team defeats Basehor-Linwood 4-0

The boy’s varsity soccer team defeated Basehor-Linwood 4-0 on Wednesday, Sept. 19.

Senior forward Isaiah Gum, scored a hat trick [three goals in a game] in the first 10 minutes of the game.

“We were all equally happy for him, a hat trick isn’t very common,” junior center midfielder Jack Lopez said. “To be able to do it in nine minutes is really impressive.”

The rest of the first half and through the second half was a tough battle for everyone. No goals were made by either team. By the middle of the second half senior goalie Taylor Hunter was moved up to play forward. Two shots were taken by Hunter with no successful goals. With less than a minute left on the clock Lopez took a final shot. With 37 seconds left in the game, a fourth goal was made by Mill Valley.

“I was excited because it was my first legit goal of the season,” Lopez said.
