The Tennis team placed fourth at the first tournament of the season at home against 8 teams on Wednesday, April 1.

Sophomore Aaron Middaugh, who placed third, is proud of his younger teammates for starting off the season strong.

“There were a lot of kids on the team who hadn’t played in tournaments before and they did really well,” Middaugh said. “Top players didn’t do as well but that’s because there were a lot of teams there.”

With only two seniors on the team, junior Chandler Reinoehl said one of his goals for the season is to make it to regionals with all the younger other members.

“Hopefully we can make it to regionals,” Reinoehl said. “So far the lack of seniors has been fine but other sophomores and juniors have had to step up and help out the freshmen.”

Middaugh said his consistancy set him apart from the competition.

“I played against kids who had a lot better serves than I did; I need to fix that,” Middaugh said. “I am consistant while other players try to hit winners but I break them down by returning them each hit.”
