Mushroom burgers

I had a burger from a restaurant the other day and I wanted to make my own twist on it. I had a mushroom patty melt and it was the most delicious thing that I have had in a long time. I like my burgers greasy and juicy and that is exactly what this recipe is.

Ingredients:

1 lb. ground hamburger meat

1 small package of white button mushrooms (sliced)

3 tbsp. butter

Hamburger buns

Any condiments of your choice

Directions:

Procure a small skillet and put on low heat. Put the butter and the oil in the pan and allow for the butter to melt. Have the mushrooms sliced and ready to put in the pan when the butter is melted. Sauté the mushrooms in the butter until brown and they should have a buttery, salty smell. Place in a bowl and set aside.

In another medium skillet cook your hamburgers on low heat. Take a good portion of the meat in your hand and start to make it into a round-flat shape. One pound of hamburger meat should make four medium patties. Remember to make the patties bigger than usual because they shrink when they cook. Do this until you have used the entire pound of hamburger meat.

The meat should brown on each side and cooked in the middle. The meat should be brown all through out the patty or medium-well. If you need to check to make sure, you can make a cut in the patty. Cook it on each side for approximately 10 minutes. The juices of the meat should be able to help cook it so you do not need anymore oil.

Assembly time! Take the buns and put on a plate, then add your hamburger, then the cheese of your choice (I love sharp cheddar with this recipe) and finally the magnificent, juicy mushrooms. Top it with the other bun and stuff your mouth.

This recipe is juicy, greasy and delicious. You can serve it with fries on the side or green beans, that’s what’s cookin’ this week. Check back next week for a new recipe.
