Girls soccer team beats Bishop Ward High School 11-0

The girls soccer team traveled to Bishop Ward High School to play the Cyclones Thursday, April 12. The team won in an 11-0 victory, with junior Kayla Hamner scoring a hat trick.

“It was a good chance for us to put into play what we do in practice, and it worked very well,” said Hamner.

Thursday night’s victory improved the team’s overall record to 4-1 and a league record to 2-0. The game was also ended at halftime due to the mercy rule.

“We have worked together very well; we’re still improving and getting better every game,” said junior Carlie Howe.

Howe herself also scored two of the team’s 11 goals in the victory over Bishop Ward.

The team will travel to Topeka Seaman and face the Vikings next time on Monday, April 17.
