Girls and Boys varsity team were successful at meet

The boys and girls varsity bowling teams competed against Lansing High School, Shawnee Heights High School, and St. James Academy at Park Lanes on Wednesday, Jan. 9. The boys took first place and the girls took third place.

Bowling coach Adam Wessel was happy with the outcome.

“I was pleased with the results for our first tournament,” Wessel said. “But there is room for improvement.”

Varsity bowling member Cassie Widmer agrees.

“I think the girls team did a good job, since most of our team is pretty new to bowling,” Widmer said. “I am so proud of them. The boys team, varsity and JV, are really good this year.”

Wessel thinks that they can improve even more.

“One of the areas I would like to see improvement in is consistency,” Wessel said.

The next bowling meet for varsity and JV is at Gage Bowl in Topeka at 3:30 p.m. against Leavenworth High School and Topeka High School on Tuesday, Jan. 15.
