Daily announcements for Wednesday, May 2

All girls interested in playing volleyball: there will be a volleyball information meeting tonight at 7 p.m. in the commons to discuss summer workouts and meet coach Revelle. Players and parents are welcome.

Senior choir members are rehearsing the graduation song today during seminar in the choir room.

Any student not currently singing in a choir may audition for any of the four choirs here. Please see chior director Sheree Stoppel by today for music and audition information. We will rehearse during seminar tomorrow in the choir room.

T-shirt money for “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” shirts is due today at 3:30 p.m. See drama teacher Jon Copeland during seminar or immediately after school if you have any questions.

Anyone interested in cross country next year that didn’t come to the meeting on Monday, April 30, should see coach Mark Chipman this week.

There will be a senior class meeting on tomorrow during seminar. Seniors will report to seminar. This meeting will take the entire seminar.

A boys basketball meeting will be held on Monday, May 7 during Seminar to discuss summer basketball camps and
tournaments. All boys interested in playing basketball next year should attend.

All students that were accepted into the Sociology of Community Service class for next school year need to attend an informational meeting on Monday, May 7 during seminar in the senior café.

There will be meeting next Monday, May 7 during seminar in for anyone interested in being a football manager next
fall. The meeting will take place in the weight room.

Any student who would like to run for a StuCo class position needs to see art teacher Erica Crist in GL102 as soon as possible. Petitions and speeches are due on Thursday, May 10.

Mayhem mud volleyball and dodge ball sign ups are during lunch this entire week. Seniors may sign up during lunch to play in the faculty verses student basketball game.

A “Midsummer Night’s Dream” will be performed next Friday, May 4 and Saturday, May 5 at 7 p.m. each night. Mark your calendars to see this awesome production. Tickets are $3 for students with student I.D. They may be purchased from Copeland today.

Driver’s education forms for the summer session are now available in the office and online. Class will begin Monday, June 4. Classes meet from 10-11:30 a.m. on Monday through Thursday each week for three weeks. Cost is $200.

Voyager Students: join us for “Passport to Intrigue”– critical & creative writing and more tomrrow during silver two. No packet is required.

All books and materials checked out today and for the remainder of the school year will be due back in the media center
by Friday, May 11. Please be certain all checked out materials are back by that time.

Seniors: a new list is posted on the media center windows with those names of seniors needing to return books and/or pay fines in the media center. Please take care of these responsibilities. Your checkout form will not be signed by the media center unless these items are completed.

Attention Seniors: please do not forget that Friday, May 4 is the deadline to turn in your scholarship form to the counseling office. This scholarship information will be included in the awards assembly and on the graduation program, so it’s important that we receive your information. Extra copies of the form are available in the counseling office.

Attention current freshmen, sophomores and juniors. The University of Kansas will once again host the Rotary Youth Leadership Academy from Sunday, June 3 to Thursday, June 7. This program is designed to help you develop leadership skills and abilities, promote ethical behavior, and facilitate personal growth and self-awareness. Program cost is $300 and deadline to apply is this Friday, May 4. Stop by the counseling office for more information.

The junior varsity softball team completed their season yesterday with two convincing wins over Lansing, highlighted by sophomore Jordan Blair’s two-run homerun. The team finished the year with a 15-4-1 record.
