Competitive bowling helps sophomore succeed

Bowling competitively for three years, sophomore Joe Gunter has always had a knack for picking up spares.

“Bowling is a pretty simple game,” Gunter said. “Being readily available it is always easy to go to the bowling alley, focus, and bowl a good game.”

Since the school has begun having a bowling team Gunter has gave it his all in every meet and has bowled a high game of 215. As the season goes on he believes he can only get better due to the opportunity to bowl four times a week.

“Since the season has begun, we bowl quite a lot each week,” Gunter said. “It’s easy to become a better bowler because of the drills we do and how many times we get to bowl.”

Along with improving his bowling game, Gunter enjoys meeting people who take bowling somewhat serious and has a good time making new friends.

“It’s feels good to be around people who don’t just joke around when they bowl,” Gunter said. “Bowling with teammates who bowl seriously makes the sport more enjoyable.”
