Q+A Sessions with College Commits

Ava Bredwell – University of Nebraska-Lincoln – Softball

JagWire: How long have you been committed to UNL?

Ava Bredwell:”I committed last August so eight months ago.”

JW: Why did you choose the college of you chose?

AB: “I really love the coaches, I think that [UNL] is going to be a really good fit for me; [the coaches and my] personalities match up really well. I also like the distance it is from home, it’s about three and a half hours and I think that’s perfect for me because [my family wouldn’t need to travel] super far but I also don’t want to be at KU right up the street.”

JW: What are you most looking forward to experiencing in your first year of collegiate sports?

AB: “For sure, I’m excited about the team dynamic. I’m excited to spend a lot of time with the girls and get to know them. I’ve been wanting to play college sports for all of my life so I’m excited to see what that life is all about

Lily Fleetwood – University of Louisville – Pole Vault

JagWire: How long have you been committed to the University of Louisville?

Lily Fleetwood: I committed officially to Louisville in February 2021 after a long process of talking to different schools.”

JW: Why did you choose the college of you chose?

LF:  “I ultimately decided on Louisville because I fell in love with the team’s atmosphere, I am beyond excited to be a part of such a hard working, dedicated, and supportive team of athletes. My future coach is also amazing and so passionate about the sport and her athletes. I also really liked that the campus is on the smaller side but it is also in the city so it will be a really cool experience to live there.”

JW: What are you most looking forward to experiencing in your first year of collegiate sports?

LF: I can’t wait to meet and train with the vaulters there. The girls have such a close knit relationship and they also work super hard in school and track and support each other in everything they do so i’m super excited to be a part of that. I am also excited to live on my own and room with 3 other track athletes.”

Ethan Kremer – Colorado School of Mines – Football

JagWire: How long have you been committed to CSM?

Ethan Kremer: “I committed in January so coming up on four months

JW: Why did you choose the college of you chose?

EK: “I love the campus and the coaches, they’ve been awesome for me throughout the entire process so I’ve really felt a connection with them so it felt like the right place to be

JW: What are you most looking forward to experiencing in your first year of collegiate sports?

EK: “Becoming a part of the team, there’s a great atmosphere there and I’m really looking forward to joining them and being a part of the program that’s already been put in place.”

Jaden Ravnsborg – Kansas State University – Volleyball

JagWire: How long have you been committed to K-State?

Jaden Ravnsborg: “I’ve been committed for two years now,”

JW: Why did you choose the college of you chose?

JR: “I loved the coaching staff and all of the players on the team. I really liked the campus. I liked how [K-State] was also close to home so my parents can come up and watch my games. It’s also in the “Power Five” conference which was super cool.”

JW: What are you most looking forward to experiencing in your first year of collegiate sports?

JR: “I’m excited to travel with the team, to get to know the girls. I’m kind of nervous for this summer because of the lifting and practices but I’m most excited, probably, to travel and play the top teams in the nation.”

Chris Tennant – Kansas State University – Football

JagWire: How long have you been committed to K-State?

Chris Tennant: “I’ve been committed for almost a year now”.

JW: Why did you choose the college of you chose?

CT: “The coaches and the culture there just seems like the best fit [for me].”

JW: What are you most looking forward to experiencing in your first year of collegiate sports?

CT: “I think I’m most excited for the intensity and having all-day practices. I’m most excited for the games and being in big stadiums with lots of people in them.”
