Choirs perform winter concert

All choirs joined together for a prism style concert on Monday, Dec. 5.

 A prism style concert takes it name from the dimension of the music throughout the theatre, in which choirs enter and exit at staggered times to allow for more singing to occur and to decrease the amount of time it takes for choirs to transition onto the stage for their performances.

“I was really proud with what they did,” choir director Sheree Stoppel said. “[They could improve on] maybe just becoming more engaged with the music itself, being a performer.”

Besides straight-out singing, the concert also included a piano duet from sophomore Emily Leonard and junior Chloe Stewart and a vocal solo during “The Christmas Song” from senior Brendan Kendall. During “You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch,” art teacher Jerry Howard joined the choir onstage as the Grinch, removing all presents that decorate the stage.

 The next choir to perform will be the Mixed Ensemble on Friday, Dec. 9. The next all-choir concert will take place in March.
