Over 60 students waited in line during seminar on Thursday, Dec. 4 for the first day of cookie sales from the Catty Shack, which sold 144 cookies in 40 minutes for a profit of $47.52.

While waiting in line for a her purchase, junior Madison Remijio shares her excitement about the new treats.

“I think it’s awesome because some people don’t like the cookies sold in the cafeteria,” Remijio said.

Sophomore Kirstin Graham agrees with Remijio’s opinion, but wishes she was able to purchase the cookies more frequently.

“Since it’s only on Thursdays, and I don’t really have a lot of time [then], I think they should sell them everyday,” Graham said.

However, senior social media coordinator Macy Walker explains why the marketing department made the decision to sell the cookies on Thursdays only.

“Because of MVTV we have enough time to set up [while] people are still in the classroom,” Walker said. “We [have to] get the oven heated up to actually make the cookies so we can be ready for when the rush comes.”

Even though the cookies are only sold once a week, Walker expects a growth in revenue.

“I think we are going to make a gigantic profit,” Walker said. “Once word spreads about how good the cookies are and how awesome we did with [sales].”
