Last year’s results: 3rd at regionals

First meet: Tuesday, April 29 in Topeka

Coach’s perspective:

“My goals for the whole team are to have fun, make new friends [and] build on existing friendships, demonstrate great sportsmanship and become better at playing tennis. For the varsity six-man team, it is also to win the regional tournament this year. For [juniors] Alec Bergeron and Andrew Bock, it is also to win the state tournament in doubles.” —head coach Eric Ammerman

Returning player’s perspective:

“I have always enjoyed playing tennis. It is always fun playing with the team against other teams. I also think we have a talented group of tennis players who will do well at state. We had three sophomores go to state last year, and they will likely do even better this year.” —senior Patrick Gambill

New player’s perspective:

“I guess [I’m excited for] a new experience. It’s alway fun to try a new sport and be able to interact with people that I never have before. I’m [deciding to play tennis] for fun.” —sophomore Erich Schulz
