The boys swim team placed fourth out sixth teams with a total of 175 points at Blue Valley West High school on Thursday, Jan. 24. The team competed against Shawnee Mission South, Blue Valley West, Shawnee Mission Northwest, DeSoto, and Parsons High Schools.

Swim coach Alissa Ruffin is proud of how the team determination is paying off during their first year.

“We may be new to this sport at the high school level,” Ruffin said. “But the effort put forth tonight and the accomplishments our swimmers are achieving are truly commendable.”

According to sophomore Callahan Eckardt, the coaches have contributed to much of the success of the swimmers, giving them the tools they need to have such a successful inaugural season.

“They’ve been really positive about us,” Eckardt said. “They continue to build us up.”
