Girls basketball team begins try-outs

After finishing the 2010 season with a record of 12-2, the varsity girls basketball team began their try-outs on Monday, Nov. 14, for the 2011-2012 season.

Head girls basketball coach John McFall said he is excited about the progress of the team.

“We’re so much further along than we were last year,” McFall said. “This is a very sharp group that picks up things fast, I don’t have to teach everything.”

A summer league team was coached by McFall, which included members of the 2011-2012 team.

Senior Olivia Frey said she thought the league went well.

“It went a lot better than last year,” Frey said. “With our previous experience we had gained, we connected as a team.”

McFall said the league was beneficial for those who joined.

“We had workouts over the summer,” McFall said. “A large group of reliable girls came out.”

Frey foresees the season to be successful.

“I think the seasons going to go well,” Frey said. “We have most of the same girls as last year, minus the seniors.”
