Daily announcements for Tuesday, March 27

Students who are illegally parked will be ticketed. Students please make sure that you park in regular parking spots. Do not park in handicap, visitor, staff or any area striped for no parking.

Tuesday’s “Midsummer Night’s Dream” rehearsal is for the hunting scene in Act Two. This includes all of the characters listed on the rehearsal calendar and the Athenians in groups A & C. Practice begins at 3:30 p.m. in the theatre. See drama teacher Jon Copeland if you have questions.

Science Olympiad will not meet today after school.  We will have an open lab on Friday, March 30 during seminar.  Please stop by to see science teacher Alyssa Auld for a packet about the state competition.

Voyager students don’t miss the final biography study of the year, “Steve Jobs: One Last Thing” on Tuesday, April 3   during silver 1.

Order your corsage, bouquet or boutonniere for prom. Orders will be taken during lunch through Tuesday, April 10. All orders are prepaid. Order pick up will be Friday, April 13, during seminar. Corsages are $15, bouquets are $18 and boutonnieres are $7.50. This is a fundraiser for the Connections Class.

Jostens will be here Friday, March 30 in the Commons during lunch to deliver senior announcements.

The MVHS Video Production students are hosting their annual April Fool’s Film Fest next Monday, April 2 during Seminar in the theater.  Tickets cost one dollar and can be purchased from any Video Production student or in Room C103.

Any of social studies teacher Jeff Wieland’s first semester consumer economics students who would like to pick up their completed journals or portfolios may do so before the end of the day Friday, March 30.

There will be a prom work night on Thursday, March 29 after school.  If you are on the prom committee, you must attend either Monday or Thursday or you will not receive a discount on your Prom ticket.

Please join the MV TASK force in our attempt to prevent teen tobacco use.  The 6th Annual Kick Butts Day Volleyball Tournament is on Wednesday, March 28 at 6:30 p.m.  Winning team will receive free t-shirts.  Cost is $1 per person or $6 per team.  Sign up your team at lunch.

 Mill Valley cheer tryouts will be held Wednesday, April 11 through Friday, April 13. If you interested in trying out there is a parent and participant meeting on Tuesday, March 27 at 7 p.m. in the Mill Valley Media Center. For more information please go to MVHS cheer website.

The Mill Valley Silver Stars Dance team will be holding their auditions for the 2012-2013 school year Tuesday, April 3 to Friday, April 6. Any interested students can pick up  try-out packets in the front office. You can also find them on the Silver Stars website. Make sure to fill out the needed information and return the application, agreement and teacher recommendations back in to the office no later than Thursday, March 29. Late packets will not be accepted.

  • $5 for every Senior who paid last year as a Junior
  • $40 for every Senior who did not attend last year
  • $45 for Juniors until March 30th
  • $50 for Juniors until April 13th
  • $55 for Juniors and Seniors at the door
  • $3 for parking passes bought in advance- you must keep them and have them for that night
  • $5 for parking the night of bought at Club 1000. :  If you do not purchase the parking pass prior to Prom for $3 it will cost $5 the night of Prom. 

There is NO Valet parking. See Mrs. Thom for tickets.

This is the final week to purchase after prom tickets.

  • $5 if you wish to purchase the unlimited playing card.

They may turn this all in to the office anytime before Friday or during lunch in the cfeteria this Tuesday to Friday.

We are happy to announce that we have a prize drawing this week as well:  a free spray tan or car detailing.

After prom permission forms for Mill Valley students and guests are available in the office. You must also have an outside guest dance permit in the office.

Congratulations to both the Mill Valley JV and varsity baseball teams for yesterday’s  doubleheader sweeps of Basehor-Linwood. Winning varsity pitchers were LJ Hatch and Greg Mason who threw a no hitter in the first game of the night. The JV and varsity’s next games are this Thursday at home against Bishop Ward.
