On Oct. 3 2025, Taylor Swift’s album “The Life of a Showgirl” was released. This is Swift’s 12th studio album she’s released. This album is all about a showgirl’s life and all the messy, busy, “Treacherous” parts that come along with being in the spotlight. Swift blends together the fun theatrical vibe of “1989” and “Lover” with the lyricism of “folklore” and “evermore” to show what it’s really like to be under the constant pressure of feeling like you have to perform.
Overall, I personally did not love this album. It was not the Jazzy, 50’s,-60’s vibe that many thought it would be, and it was a huge shift lyrically and rhythmically from “The Tortured Poets Department,” which I understand why Swift did it but I am just not a fan. However I’m so happy Swift is able to write about so much more than how horrible and sad her previous relationships made her feel and I believe the albums will get happier and better from here.
