It’s no doubt that Twitter has swept the world off its feet and proven that it deserves its spot on the social networking throne. Just yesterday, What the Trend, a division of HootSuite Media, compiled a list of top trending topics on Twitter out of over 200,000 topics. Counting down to the top spot, the top 10 trending topics of 2011 are:

9. Japan Earthquake
8. Britney Spears
7. Super Junior
6. Christmas
5. Jonas Brothers
4. NBA
3. Lady Gaga
2. Soccer/Football
1. Justin Bieber
Unfortunately, it looks as if no one has been able to find a cure for that darn Bieber fever. And the Jonas Brothers at the number five spot? Are we positive this isn’t the results for 2007?
