Kansas City is an awesome place for music, and very rarely can that be more apparent than at Middle of the Map Fest, a collaborative effort between Ink magazine and The Record Machine, a local record label. In its sixth year, the festival saw some changes — it moved from Westport to the Crossroads Arts District for the latter half, and that allowed it to feature two headlining venues, CrossroadsKC and the Arvest Bank Theatre at The Midland.
After hearing all about the festivities last year, I knew I had to make it out to Westport and Crossroads. I went to Days Two through Four of Middle of the Map Fest, and, in total, saw 18 bands. Each day, I went in with an open mind, and each night, I left loving Kansas City even more than before. Read on for day-by-day reviews.
