Students selected for KCDA women’s honor choir

The Kansas Choral Directors Association choose eight singers from the school to perform in the State Women’s Honor Choir in Topeka, KS on Thursday, July 12 – Friday, July 13 at the KCDA summer convention. The eight singers are as listed:

Junior Chloe Stewart

Junior Hannah Reichle

Junior Misty Adkins

Sophomore Clare Young

Sophomore Katie Linsey

Freshman Caitlin Alley

Freshman Monica Brich

Freshman Allison Eigsti

Choir director Sheree Stoppel explains the two days there.

“When they go they’ll be working with a nationally known director who specializes in women’s choirs,” Stoppel said. “This is a state honor choir with girls all over Kansas. They will prepare four or five choral songs before they go.”

Stewart is eager to go.

“It is really exciting,” Stewart said. “It was a lot of fun last year. There are more girls going this year, so it should be a lot of fun.”

Young agrees.

“I think it is really cool and I am really excited to join the other girls in singing this summer,” Young said.

The choir’s next concert is on Friday, May 11 from 6-9 p.m.
