Girls soccer team advances to 6-1

The Lady Jags soccer team advanced to an overall record of 6-1 after a victory over the Lansing Lions on the road on Tuesday, April 17.

Sophomore Abby Sieperda recorded her third hat trick for the season, making for a total of 14 goals in seven games.

“[My goals are] to just get better and grow as a team, but my main goal is to beat my record last year of 21 goals,” Sieperda said.

Junior Kayla Hamner followed closely behind with two goals, and a third that was called back for a controversial offside call by the assistant referee.

Despite the offside call, head coach Arlan Vomhof was pleased with advancing the team’s league record to 3-0.

“It’s always good to beat Lansing,” Vomhof said.

The Lady Jags travel to LIVESTRONG Sporting Park Thursday, April 19 to take on inter-district rivals the De Soto Wildcats.
