Many thought *NYSNC and Backstreet Boys were the end of boy bands, but not for Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik, better known as One Direction. They started a “One Direction infection” when they were introduced as Simon Cowell’s protégés back in 2010. Since then, they have released their debut album “Up All Night,” which topped the iTunes Top 100 list for most of the summer and toured with Big Time Rush. And did I mention they’re all under 21?
With a solo tour coming up in 2013, which I already I have my tickets for, it is time for a new album. High expectations follow One Direction since the release of their new single, “Live While We’re Young.” Fans were not disappointed, considering they made One Direction part of iTunes’ Top 100 royalty. The single includes the same fun vibe as “What Makes You Beautiful,” but this song focused on letting each member of the band have their own solo part. I believe this is the right direction for One Direction and cannot wait for their new album, called Take Me Home to drop on Tuesday, Nov. 13.
One Direction releases album in U.S.
One Direction officially released their album Up All Night (Deluxe Edition) in the United States on Tuesday, March 13. The much anticipated album was well received, debuting at No. 1 on the American iTunes list the day it was released. Much of the album’s success came from pre-orders.
The only things that differentiate the deluxe edition from the original album are the extra two songs and the extended booklet. If you’re going to buy the album, I would go ahead and spend the two extra dollars for the deluxe edition.
I absolutely adore One Direction, but people who don’t like pop music probably won’t appreciate the music of the British-Irish boy band. My favorite songs from the album were “One Thing,” “More Than This,” “Up All Night,” “Everything About You,” “Save You Tonight,” “Stole My Heart” and “Moments.”
One Direction’s album has an upbeat feel to it overall. There are a few songs that are relatively slow, but they’re just as good.
This album is fantastic. I would recommend it to anybody, even though I don’t appreciate One Direction’s mainstream recognition. I think that the release of their new album is a good thing for them because it has generated interest from lots of new fans and will hopefully get a U.S. tour in the works.
