Blue Crew lacks a sponsor to start the year
Last year Blue Crew planned activities like tutu decorating to enhance school spirit

Without a sponsor to start the year, the school spirit group Blue Crew faces big changes. The students in the group have been given the role to find a teacher to replace former sponsor Jessica DeWild.
“We have been discussing which teachers would be willing to [lead Blue Crew],” senior Blue Crew member Kylie Andres said. “We definitely need people who have more ideas and creativity.”
Because DeWild already sponsors softball and StuCo she decided not to continue leading Blue Crew this year.
“Last year we had StuCo and Blue Crew combine but it became too similar and DeWild [decided to stay with] StuCo so we have no one to sponsor.” senior Blue Crew member Ally Garton said. “If we had an adult who took initiative we would have a leader.”
Blue Crew is known as a spirit booster at all home games. Last year the club created a variety of activities including tutu decorating and spirit nights at games to get more students involved.
“It enhances [school spirit],” DeWild said. “Especially for students who aren’t in extra curriculars.”
