Dear fellow canine aficionados,

Welcome to Dog with a Blog. I’m Nora Lucas, and chances are, you know I’ve got a soft spot in my heart for dogs of all kinds. Writing newspaper story ideas last year, I found myself submitting an idea about puppers in nearly every single issue until it accumulated into an opinion piece titled “Paws-itivity is the best thing since sliced bred.” I thought writing that would get this obsession out of my system, but it only inspired me to further my love of animals into a year-long blog all about man’s best friend.

That’s right, this is a blog all about dogs. Each week, I will be covering a new topic either about all dogs in general or a specific story about my own Winnie, a corgi. Most of the time it will be informative writing, photos and graphics about things dog-owners truly care about: treats, grooming, social skills, etc. Every once in awhile, though, you’ll hear about my old girl Winnie and her adventures. She truly is a funny lady with lots of personality and SONAR capable ears.

Dogs are my favorite thing to read about, talk about and look at, so it’s safe to say I immerse myself in dog-lover culture. I love them because they are always there for people as faithful companions, never failing to make you smile. Dogs have this innate sense of when you’re down, when you’re happy, and when you’re grabbing a treat out of the bag. They love us even when we don’t deserve it, and that, my friends, is something only a doggo can do.

Hats off to a great year of pooch appreciation,

Nora Lucas
