This is Hanna Torline’s third year as a member of the JagWire staff. As a senior, she is involved in journalism, jagPRIDE, NHS, StuCo, Club 121, student leadership team, debate, girls golf and student ambassadors. Her favorite quote is from Mark Twain: “The difference between the right word and the almost right word is the difference between lightning and a lightning bug.”
Senior Kristina Milewski joined the JagWire newspaper staff freshmen year as a reporter and photographer. Her sophomore and junior year she was the features editor. Now in her fourth year, Milewski is an editor-in-chief. Aside from being involved with journalism, she is also the Vice President of NHS and is involved in Student Ambassadors.
Senior Austin Gillespie is one of the three editors-in-chief of JagWire this school year. Gillespie joined staff his sophomore year as a reporter and page designer. His junior year, Gillespie was the A&E editor. As a newspaper enthusiast, he is prepared to help lead this year’s paper to success.
This is Alec Santaularia’s second year on the staff of the JagWire. He is glad that he gets to spend his senior year with such an amazing group of people. Santaularia also participates in JagChorale, the Mill Valley Singers and the school drama productions. His favorite quote is from the famous poet, Robert Frost; “In three words I can sum up everything I’ve learned about life: it goes on.”
Senior Miranda Snyder joined the JagWire staff her junior year as a photographer. This year she is still taking pictures but also the web editor. She likes to keep busy and is involved in NHS, Harmony Club, Art Club, MVTV, and Ambassadors. She loves listening to music and reading. Her favorite quotes is by the character Albus Dumbledore, ““It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.”
Katherine White is the briefs editor for the JagWire. This is her first year on staff. Her hobbies include cheering avidly with the pep band at games, practicing her cello, and drawing silly pictures.
Senior Mackenzie Eckman is the social media and a&e editor of the JagWire. Last year, Eckman joined staff as a reporter. She enjoys taking pictures and hanging out with friends in her free time. Eckman is also involved in Club Operation, jagPRIDE and is a member of NHS.
Alana Flinn is a second year staffer who is looking forward to a year full of new experiences. As sports editor, Flinn hopes to bring a unique design to the sports pages of the newspaper. She will also continue to report on her favorite sport, football. Flinn’s favorite quote is: “Every person you meet, every single one, is looking for their story. There are no exceptions. You become part of it by how you treat them.”
Annie Crouch is a writer and photographer for the JagWire. She is a sophomore and this is her first year on staff. In her freetime she enjoys listening to music, shopping, and hanging out with her friends and family. Also, she likes to read People magazine & keep up with pop culture. Her favorite quote is “Sanity and happiness are an impossible combination.” by Mark Twain.
Kate Schau is a reporter for the JagWire. This is her first year on staff. Schau is a dedicated member of the band in which she plays the euphonium. She is also a manager of the cross country team and a member of the Quiz Bowl team.
Junior Dona Gentry is the photography editor for the JAG. This is her second year on staff. Gentry enjoys taking pictures, spending time with friends and family, and reading and playing tennis when she isn’t working on the yearbook. She is also a part of NHS and very active in her church. One of her favorite quotes by Albus Dumbldore is “Happiness can be found in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”
Sophomore Margo Wieschhaus is a writer and photographer for the JAG Yearbook. This is her first year on staff and she is looking forward to working with everyone else in yearbook. Wieschhaus is involved in jagPRIDE, student leadership team and basketball. Outside of school activities, she enjoys relaxing and spending time with her friends and family.
Junior Kylie Lewis is a photographer for the JAG Yearbook staff. This is her first year on yearbook and is looking forward to being a part of the staff. Lewis is also involved in tennis, basketball, and NHS. In her free time, she likes to hang out with friends and family.
Sophomore Sydney Carson joined the JAG Yearbook staff this year as a writer. Carson enjoys hanging out with friends, reading, listening to Justin Bieber and writing in her spare time. She also loves playing basketball and plans on trying out for the Mill Valley team this winter.
Junior Taylor Cowan is a photographer for the JAG Yearbook Staff. This is her first year on staff and is ready to take on her role as a photographer. She is on the varsity volleyball team, plays club volleyball, and is involved in NHS. In her free time, Cowan loves to take pictures and hang out with her friends.
Sophomore Courtney Bohnert is a writer and a photographer for the JAG Yearbook staff. This is her first year on the staff. She is also a member of the Mill Valley tennis team and hopefully the bowling team. Bohnert likes to hang out with friends and play with her cat in her free time
Sophomore Mikaela McCabe is a writer on the JAG Yearbook staff. This is her first year on the staff. McCabe is on the varsity tennis team, plans to join the swim team and is a StuCo class representative. In her free time, she likes to read, hang out with her friends and take pictures of her dogs.
Sophomore Lindsay Roush is a photographer for the JAG yearbook. This is her first year on staff, as a sophomore. Currently, Roush is covering Boys’ Soccer, FACS, and YoungLife. In her spare time, she enjoys playing volleyball, spending time with her friends and family, and traveling.
Sophomore Cassi Benson is a Reporter for the JAG Yearbook staff. This is her first year on the staff. She is a returning member of jagPRIDE, and participates in Cross Country and Track. In her free time she enjoys running and spending time with friends. She is looking forward to traveling with the school on the Europe trip this summer.
Sophomore Laura Earlenbaugh is a reporter and photographer for the JAG Yearbook staff. Earlenbaugh is a sophomore and this is her first year on staff. She is currently covering band, youth court, carpentry and engineering, and girls golf in the yearbook. Earlenbaugh is involved in choir and is on the cast of the musical this fall. In her free time, Earlenbaugh loves to play the piano, sing, and spend time with her friends and family.
Junior Amanda Curtright is a section editor for the JAG yearbook staff. This is her first year on staff and first year as a section editor. Curtright is a StuCo junior class representative and is also apart of NHS. She has also been involved with Girls Soccer for three years and Cross Country for two years. In her free-time she enjoys playing soccer and spending time with friends.
Junior Madison LaBarge is a section editor and writer for the 2012-13 JAG Yearbook staff. This is her first year, she is covering stories about NHS, the FACS department, Debate/Forensics, and Varsity Tennis. LaBarge plans to spend her junior year working, focusing on her school work, and staying active on the yearbook staff. She likes to also spend time with her friends and family. LeBarge is excited to be a part of the staff and already can’t wait for the end result.
Junior Erica Leonard is the section editor and a writer for the JAG Yearbook staff. This is her second year as a writer on staff and her first year as section editor. Leonard loves reading, scrapbooking, and spending time with her friends and family. She is on the soccer team and currently works at Pizza Shoppe. She is in treble choir and is also a student ambassador. Look for Leonard’s stories about Boys Soccer, Young Life, Jag Pride, and Fine Arts.
Junior Halie Rust is a photographer for the JAG Yearbook staff. Rust enjoys taking pictures, painting, drawing, and spending time with her friends and family. Most of her time is spent on doing school work and working her part time job in concessions at Mid-America and OKUN field house. Rust is covering stories for World Languages, Robotics, Physical Education/Health, and Cheerleading.
Junior Rylie Gerber a photographer for the JAG yearbook staff for the 2012-2013 school year. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Most of her time is taken up by working, focusing on her school work, and planning on her future. Rylie spends time participating in art. She is covering photos for Girls Golf, Harmony Club, and Diversity Club. She can’t wait to get to know the yearbook staff better. Rylie is eager to complete the JAG yearbook, and to see results of this years hard work.
Junior Shelby Rayburn is the web editor and a writer on the JAG Yearbook staff. This is her second year on staff and first year as a web editor. Rayburn is a varsity cheerleader and is involved in NHS. In her free time, Rayburn likes to hang out with her friends and play with her dogs. Her favorite quote is by Audrey Hepburn “For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.”
Senior Jillian Mullin has been on the JAG yearbook staff for two years. She joined her junior year as a writer and photographer and is now an editor-in-chief. Outside of yearbook, Mullin is involved in NHS and dances in the company at Starstruck Performing Arts Center. In the future, Mullin plans to attend the University of Missouri and hopes to live in a city and travel the world. For now, she looks forward to devoting her time towards another successful edition of the JAG.
Senior Ellen Bodine has been on the JAG yearbook staff for two years, first as a section editor and now as an editor-in-chief. Outside of journalism, she is involved in girls golf, NHS and Ambassadors. In the future, Bodine hopes to work for the National Archives, have several pet dogs and travel the world. As for now, she looks forward to creating another excellent edition of the JAG and graduating at the end of the year.
Senior Lisa Galvan has been a member of the JAG for three years. She joined the staff as a sophomore as a writer and photographer. Her junior year she continued to be a writer and photographer along with being the business editor. This year Galvan is an editor-in-chief. She is also student body president, a member of NHS and has a part-time job with JCPRD.
Riley McDonald is a junior and this is her first year on the JagWire staff. She spends her time drawing, playing roller derby, and hanging out with friends.
Junior Stephanie Hudleston is a photographer for the JagWire. This is her first year on staff. She works a little after school and in her free time she loves to shop, hang out with friends, and go to the movies. After highschool she plans on going to KU for four years. And her favorite quote is by Taylor Swift, “Your lucky enough to be different, never change.”
Junior Ashley Kitchen is a first-year JagWire staff member. She is going to be involved in the girls’ swimming this year. Her favorite quote is “Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it is better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.” -Marilyn Monroe
Senior Kelsey Floyd is the current photo editor of the JagWire. She enjoys every moment she spends in the journalism room. But outside of newspaper her hobbies are photography, sewing and making costumes for the musical. Floyd most relates to this quote by Charlie Brown, “My anxieties have anxieties.”
Sophomore Callee Linton is a writer for the JagWire. This is her first year on staff. Along with being on staff, Linton is a part of the Mill Valley cheerleading team. In her free time, Linton enjoy’s spending time with friends, family, writing and shopping.
Junior Devynn Harris is a photographer for the JagWire. She also participates in the 2012-2013 swim team. Harris enjoy’s singing and playing her guitar in her free time.
Austin Gude is the ads manager on the Jagwire for his third year on staff. He is a senior and really enjoys playing baritone in marching and concert band. Gude also enjoys working at Papa Murphy’s where he has been working for a year. Austin is really looking foreward to graduation where he will then go to Johnson County Community College.
Amber Nguyen is a reporter and photographer for the JagWire. This is her first year on staff. She is currently active in jagPRIDE and student ambassadors. Her future goals consist of going to KU and becoming a pediatric nurse. Her favorite quote is by Audrey Hepburn, “As you grow older you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself the other for helping others.”
Sydney Wilson is the copy editor of the JagWire newspaper. As a junior, this is her second year on staff. When she’s not watching cheesy old movies, Wilson also dances with the American Youth Ballet.
Baylee Owen is a senior and it is her first year on the JagWire staff. She enjoys listening to music, skating, and spending time with her friends. She has an obsession with Call of the Wildman and Odd Future. Her favorite quote is from Tyler, the Creator; “Do whatever makes you happy, because in the end who’s there? You.”
Jack is in his second year on the JagWire staff, and his first as an editor. He enjoys spending his time outside of the journalism room playing soccer, snow skiing and going to church. His favorite quote is from his favorite Beatles song, “Let it Be” As the song goes, “I am the walrus, goo goo g’joob.”
Junior Regan Jones is the features editor of the JagWire. She is going to be involved in girls’ swimming this year and is in Club 121. Her favorite quote is “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will keep your paths straight.” -Proverbs 3:5-6
Junior Ryan Fullerton is in his second year on staff and is the news editor. He plans to work for the continued improvement of the news section and publish news stories relevant to students. Fullerton is also a third-year cross country runner.
